Bollywood actor, Sushant Singh Rajput's flat has finally found a tenant after almost three years of his demise. His untimely and unfortunate demise had created a massive stir in the entire Hindi film industry. During the COVID-19 lockdown, the actor reportedly committed suicide at his Bandra flat, where he was living with his girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty. Well now, the flat will be rented out soon, as somebody has agreed to move in.
As per the latest report in India Today, a real estate broker, Rafique Merchant said that the flat owner approached him a few months back to talk about prospective tenants. Rafique also revealed that the reports about the flat being vacant led people to inquire from him, and now, the flat will be rented out at Rs. 5 lakhs per month. Moreover, the tenants will also submit a security deposit of Rs. 30 lakhs, which is equal to six months of rent. Rafique added:
“We have found somebody (a tenant). We are in the final stage of talks with the family to finalise things. People are now relaxed about it (Sushant’s death) because they say it has been a while.”

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, real-estate broker, Rafique Merchant opened up about not finding a tenant for SSR's flat as people were scared to move here. He revealed that when people would hear that it is the same apartment where Sushant Singh Rajput died, they wouldn't even visit the flat. Further, the real estate broker also revealed that the owner of the flat doesn't want to come down on the rent. However, he also added that the tenants feel that they could buy a same-sized flat at the same price without the baggage of the controversy it is linked to.
The flat, where Sushant Singh Rajput reportedly committed suicide is located at Mont Blanc Apartments on Carter Road in Mumbai’s Bandra West. The luxurious flat is a sea-facing duplex 4BHK, with an area of 2,500 sq. feet and it comes along with a terrace. For the unversed, Sushant Singh Rajput took the flat on rent in December 2019 for three years. Reportedly, at that time, the actor was paying a monthly rent of Rs 4.51 lakhs for his abode on the sixth floor of the building.
