Our hearts were already broken with the untimely demise of Bollywood gems, Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor and Wajid Khan. And when we had thought that bad times are over, we heard the news of our favourite boy-next-door, Sushant Singh Rajput's death. For a second, it was hard to believe that the boy, who had made it big in the film industry on his own, had given up on life and had committed suicide. This was the piece of news, no media personnel was ready to report because no one was ready to believe it. It was a lazy Sunday (June 14, 2020) afternoon, when the news of Sushant Singh Rajput had committed suicide at his Mumbai home, flashed on our television screens. It had left the entire nation in a jolt, no one could believe that the boy, who had made millions of us smile had taken this big step. We still remember his role in MS Dhoni's biopic and the way he had made us believe that all dreams can come true. At the mere age of 34, Sushant had left us heartbroken by taking his own life.
On June 15, 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput's last rites were performed at the Pawan Hans Crematorium at Vile Parle in Mumbai. The who's who of Bollywood turned up at the crematorium to pay their last tribute. From Shraddha Kapoor, who had worked with him in Chhichhore along to Kriti Sanon, who was his co-star in Raabta, several celebrities bid their last goodbyes. Check it out below:
After Sushant's demise, his family had shared a statement in the media that could be read as "It pains us to share that Sushant Singh Rajput is no longer with us. We request his fans to keep him in their thoughts and celebrate his life and his work like they have done so far. We request the media to help us maintain privacy at this moment of grief." We still remember watching Sushant as 'Manav' in Ekta Kapoor's television serial, Pavitra Rishta and we had hooted for the actor when he had made it big in Bollywood. He was an epitome of hard work and dreams. In his, every media interview and photoshoots, we could see his down to earth nature and his child-like smile that still woos us. His death had shocked not just the film industry, but everyone, who had seen him on the big screen. It was way too soon and if life had a rewind button, we would have never let him go and take this huge step.
Our heartfelt condolence to Sushant's family!
