Also, we had witnessed Sushant's girlfriend and actress, Rhea Chakraborty being arrested by the CBI, who was released later by the authorities after no connection with Sushant's death. However, here we are sending those unwrapped winter clothes to the dry cleaners as the winter is almost at our doorsteps. According to the Indian Express, late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput's sisters, Priyanka Singh and Meenu Singh have lodged a rejoinder statement in the High Court through their advocate, Madhav Thorat as a reply to Rhea Chakraborty's FIR against them. In the statement, the sisters have stated that the state government of Maharashtra and Mumbai Police were in an immense rush to register a case against them. The statement reads, "The FIR has been lodged maliciously with an ulterior motive for wreaking vengeance and with a view to spite and harass the petitioners due to private and personal grudge, and as such, the instant FIR is an abuse of process of law." Further in the rejoinder, the sisters have stated that Rhea's FIR is nothing more than an action made out of sheer vengeance because all the facts are simply malicious and false. The statement further reads, "Respondent Rhea, in an attempt to harass the petitioners has concocted a false, inaccurate and malicious complaint based on unsubstantiated facts pertaining to June 8, 2020, which is contrary to the facts placed before the Supreme Court by herself, press statements released earlier and interviews given to several news channels."
For the uninitiated, on September 7, 2020, Rhea Chakraborty had filed an FIR against her boyfriend and late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput's sisters, Priyanka Singh, Meenu Singh, and Dr Tarun Kumar of Ram Manohar Lohiya Hospital in the Bombay High Court. Rhea had accused Sushant's sisters and the doctor for using a fabricated prescription in order to let Sushant have access to some unprescribed medicines that are banned under the acts of NCB (Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances Act).
