Sushmita Sen is one of the most inspiring single moms of Bollywood. She embraced motherhood when she adopted her daughters, Renee and Alisah, in 2000 and 2010, respectively. Recently, the actress shared a heartfelt wish on her Instagram handle on Alisah’s 15th birthday. Her birthday wish showed how much the actress dotes on her younger child.
As Alisah turned fifteen on August 28, 2024, Sushmita Sen posted a beautiful wish on her Instagram handle with a series of pictures of Alisah as a newborn baby to a grown-up. While the first two pictures shared a glimpse of Alisah as a baby, the other pictures threw light on her childhood days. The actress also shared pictures where Alisah could be seen enjoying special moments with her mother and her sister, Renee.

With the nostalgic photographs, Sushmita Sen also penned a heartfelt note in the caption that reflected her love towards Alisah. She wrote:

Sushmita Sen's children are her first priority and she never misses any moment to spend with them. When she adopted Renee in 2000 and Alisah in 2010, she inspired many to do the same. The Main Hoon Na actress has single-handedly raised her daughters and loves them with all her heart.

In 2023, Sushmita Sen revealed that her daughters don’t need a father figure and are fine without one. In an interview with Siddharth Kanan, when asked whether her daughters miss having a father, Sushmita stated:
“Not at all. Because they don’t have a father figure. You only miss what you have. When I suggest to them that I should get married, they say, ‘For what? I don’t want a father’.”
Sushmita Sen became a mother for the first time when she adopted Renee. The former Miss Universe adopted Alisah in 2010. On the occasion of Women's Day, the actress took to her social media handle and revealed how she was asked multiple questions regarding her adoption. Everyone questioned her choice and pried on her personal life, doubting how she would raise children if she didn’t get married. To put a full stop to all these questions, she wrote in her post:
“I did what felt right in my heart. I knew I was ready to be a mother. And it turned out to be the best decision I ever made, one so profound…I made it twice!! Now I am blessed with two beautiful daughters: Renee and Alisah. I know these biases haven’t really stopped. But they shouldn’t stop you. This is a reminder to talk about them. Find YOUR answer.”
