Amongst all the emotional journeys you take, the insurmountable grief of your better-half is the toughest one to deal with. ‘Til Death Do Us Apart’ proves to be just a vow when love is involved as even after the demise of your partner, it is the eternal bond that binds a couple for eternity. When you live with someone for years and one day, that person leaves you for the heavenly abode, you lose a part of yourself too. Sutapa Sikdar too, had lost a part of herself with the demise of her husband, Irrfan Khan, and it was the actor’s strength and determination towards life that is helping her today to deal with his loss. It was in 1995 when Irrfan Khan and Sutapa Sikdar had tied the knot in a simple court marriage and are blessed with two sons, Babil and Ayaan. Ever since Irrfan’s demise, his wife and sons have been keeping his memories alive in their hearts and treating his fans with unseen pictures and anecdotes of the actor. A few hours back, Irrfan’s friend and D-Day co-star, Chandan Roy Sanyal visited the late actor’s grave in Mumbai. Tweeting a picture of Irrfan’s tomb, Chandan wrote, "Was missing Irrfan since yesterday, beating myself for not having gone to his tomb for 4 months. Today I went, there he was resting alone with no-one around with plants. In silence. I left him some Rajnigandha and took a piece of him back with his blessings. So long #IrrfanKhan."
After Chandan Roy Sanyal shared pictures of Irrfan Khan’s tomb, a fan commented on one of his wife, Sutapa Sikdar’s Facebook posts. The fan wrote, “Dear Sutapa, recently I saw a photo of Irrfan bhai’s graveyard. I was heart broken, cause it’s only few months and his graveyard looks like trash dumpster. I thought you planted ‘Rat ki Rani’, since he loved that plant. What happened? If the photo is real, then it’s a crying shame. If you have a real recent photo of the graveyard, please Post it.” In response, Sutapa wrote that she isn’t allowed to visit Irrfan’s grave, and has instead, created a shrine for the actor at Igatpuri. In her emotional note, Sutapa Sikdar revealed why she had planted raat ki rani at Irrfan Khan’s Igatpuri shrine and wrote, “Women are not allowed in Muslim graveyards, hence I have planted the raat Ki Rani in Igatpuri where I have a memory stone of his...where I have buried his fav things .I own that place Where I can sit for hours without any one telling me I can’t sit next to him. He is there in his spirit. But that doesn’t mean the graveyard shouldn’t be tended ..but as far as how is a very questionable thing... The wild plants grass have grown in rains.. It’s wild and beautiful is what I saw in the photo you are mentioning..its rains and plants come and they wither in the next season..and then one can clean it. Why should everything be exactly as per definition.. And the plants have grown may be for a purpose look closely.”

Babil Khan posted a picture of his younger brother, Ayaan watering their father, Irrfan Khan’s grave and the next photo showed flowers laid out on the same. Revealing that his father liked it wild, Babil wrote, “Baba liked it wild, Ayaan is staying strong :* mamma recently wrote about the wilderness around when some of his fans were worried that it looked unkempt, I need you to understand, he always always wished to be surrounded by the grass and the plants and the trees. Waste and plastic is always removed from that wilderness. Here’s what my beautiful mamma wrote: “Women are not allowed in Muslim graveyards. Hence, I have planted the raat Ki Rani in Igatpuri where I have a memory stone of his...where I have buried his fav things .I own that place Where I can sit for hours without any one telling me I can’t sit next to him.
