Swara Bhasker and her husband, Fahad Ahmed completed a year of marital bliss on February 16, 2024. For the unversed, after years of their hushed-about courtship, the couple tied the knot under the Special Marriage Act on February 16, 2023. After almost a month, the duo celebrated their union in a grand way by hosting a week-long extravaganza, where they hosted wedding festivities following both Hindu and Muslim rituals. A few months later in September, the couple welcomed their first child, their daughter, Raabiyaa into the world.
Taking to her IG handle, Swara Bhasker dropped a love filled post for her husband, Fahad Ahmed, as they completed their first year of marriage. On their anniversary, the diva recounted her love story with the man of her dreams. She remarked that the duo certainly rushed into getting married, but knew each other for three years prior to it. Adding how neither of them realised falling in love with one another, Swara said:
“Wise men say, only fools rush in…’ Fahad & I certainly rushed into marriage, but were friends for 3 years prior. It was a love neither of us noticed blossoming, perhaps because the differences between us were many."

Talking more about their love story, Swara then mentioned that there were quite a few differences between her and Fahad, which they needed to surpass before they jumped into the next stage of their lives by getting married. Swara revealed that there was not only religious differences between them, but she was also elder to Fahad and they came from two extreme worlds. Elaborating how they finally came closer, Swara said:
“Hindu-Muslim was only the most obvious. I’m older than Fahad & we come from different worlds: a big city girl from an ethnically mixed English speaking family & a small town boy from a traditional Western UP family that speaks Urdu & Hindustani. I’m an actress in Hindi films, he’s a research scholar, activist & politician. Our liberal arts education & values gave us a shared language of political beliefs & a common vision for our society & country. We met at the CAA-NRC protests in December 2019 & even organised one together. Slowly, we became close confidants.I felt safe with Fahad & always seen by him. He said he could talk to me about anything without fear of judgement".
Previously, in an interview with the Hindustan Times, Swara Bhasker talked about why she and her husband, Fahad didn’t reveal their daughter, Raabiyaa’s face to the world. The doting mommy revealed that she would stay put with such decision, even though the world chastises her for it. She further added that at the end of the day, she is not comfortable about letting her baby girl face public scrutiny at such a young age.

Back on December 25, 2023, Swara Bhasker took to her IG handle and dropped a hearty picture with her husband, Fahad Ahmed and daughter, Raabiyaa. The adorable parents were seen adoring their baby girl, who looked pretty in a white onesie and a red Christmas cap. Along with the picture, the actress penned a sweet note, where she conveyed her gratitude over the past year and everything best that would come ahead.
