Swastika Mukherjee Only Had Six Serious Relationships, Shares Daughter's Reaction To Her Breakup

Bengali actress, Swastika Mukherjee has worked in several films and television shows over the years. She is one of the most loved actresses. However, her personal life and the controversies surrounding the same have often garnered more attention. In a recent interview, the actress opened up about the same and shared some insights from her relationships over the years.

Swastika Mukherjee sat for a candid interview with Jitesh Pillai. This was for the show, In The Ring With Filmfare Bangla. During the conversation, the actress, who has often been linked to several actors during her time in the industry, clarified that she has had only 6 serious relationships in her life. She revealed that the media talked about everyone she was spotted with, irrespective of the nature of the outing, making it seem like she had 600 relationships. She was quoted as saying:

"I have actually never had any hanky-panky. I just did not have it in my life. The media wants to speak about everybody and anybody with whom you even go for coffee. That can't affect us, but that is the reality. I have had 6 relationships, it just feels like I have had 600."

Hearing this, Jitesh Pillai pulled her leg and said, "6 is appallingly low. Shame on you." Swastika, giving back the humourous energy, responded by sharing that she knows it's bad. She admitted that she wants to do more before she turns fifty. She was quoted as saying: 

"It's bad (laughs). I just want to, you know, do more now. Finish as much as I can before I touch 50."

In the same conversation, Swastika Mukherjee opened up about her past relationship with her Mastan co-star, Jeetendra Madnani, popularly known as 'Jeet'. The actress revealed that her daughter, Anwesha, still approves of him. She recalled that they had been together for six years, and she would still curse her and say that she wouldn't forgive her. She recalled her daughter, Answesha's equation with Jeet and stated:

"We had been together for 6 years, I think, and she still curses me, 'You are at fault'. For whatever reason, it has happened, but I will never forgive you. She was really very close to him. When she grew up, she was like, 'Such a good-looking man, what did you do?' Even my sister and my mother always took his side. They also went to his wedding, so yeah. My sister was crying buckets, and I was wondering what drama was going on."

Swastika married singer, Pramit Sen at the tender age of 18. However, their marriage was short-lived and they separated two years later. The actress had also accused her estranged husband of physical abuse and filed a charge of cruelty against him that was later dismissed. She has one daughter from the marriage, Anwesha, born in 2000. Swastika Mukherjee is the daughter of actor, Santu Mukhopadhyay. She made her TV debut with the show, Devdasi and her big screen debut with the 2001 film, Hemanter Pakhi. Swastika landed her first leading role in 2004 in the film, Mastanand later spread her wings to the Hindi film industry with her debut in Mumbai Cutting in 2008.
