Taapsee Pannu reveals Shah Rukh Khan taught her that paid reviews are a 'marketing strategy'

Recently, we stumbled upon a resurfaced interview clip on Reddit in which actress, Taapsee Pannu opened up about paid reviews as a 'marketing strategy.' She revealed that marketers would reach out to stars themselves to inform them about the cost 'with GST' for positive reviews. While this made the interviewer and Taapsee burst out laughing, what captured the attention of netizens was what she said next. The actress continued:

"But there is another way to look at it which I learnt from Shah Rukh sir. He says, what if you see them as a marketing tool? He says that 10-20 years ago hoardings were used to publicise your film, you used to buy them everywhere to display your picture."

Taapsee then stated that Shah Rukh had advised her not to view such marketers as people but as 'hoardings.' Thus, stars could buy them and publicize their films. The actress called Shah Rukh's thoughts a 'very interesting angle' and added:

"My viewpoint got shifted on this. I said yes, I feel bad only because I feel he is a human being. But if I look at it this way that it is just a space for hoarding, then I don't feel bad. Then I may be ready to pay with GST."

Some netizens raise points on 'ethics and integrity,' while others call the tactic 'PR'

Taapsee Pannu's revelations prompted many netizens to voice their thoughts on the subject of buying positive reviews. One user wrote, "If you continue to dehumanize people everything becomes legalized. Our industry's soul has been sucked into the void, replaced by mechanisms of capitalism.
