Popular daily soap, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fame, Ghanshyam Nayak, best known for his on-screen role of 'Nattu Kaka', had passed away on October 3, 2021. The Gujarati actor was battling cancer for the past one year and was on chemotherapy. However, not many people are aware of the fact that even while battling against cancer, the actor had resumed the shooting of the famous sitcom and had shown no signs of weakness in his mentality.
Sadly, with time, cancer had turned into its venomous mode and had taken away Ghanshyam Nayak's life with it. After his demise, his family had performed his last rites on October 4, 2021, and the entire cast and crew of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, from Munmun Dutta to Dilip Joshi, had attended the funeral teary-eyed.

In an interview with ETimes, late Ghanshyam Nayak'son, Vikas Nayak opened up about the last few days before his father's death and revealed how difficult it was for him and his family to see his health drowning after seeing a little rise in his health reports. He said, "Towards the last few days, dad had difficulty in breathing, and we tried to arrange for oxygen and nurses at home. But he slipped further. And we rushed him to the hospital. He had to be admitted to the ICU, then was moved into a room as he got a bit better but again had to be sent back to the ICU as the condition deteriorated yet again."
Going further in the interview, when Vikas Nayak was asked to reveal the exact moment when he had started feeling extremely worried about his father, late Ghanshyam Nayak. The doting son clearly stated that he remembers the exact moment when he had realised the brutal and painful truth that his father had started moving towards the other world. In his words, "15 days prior to his demise, his sugar had shot up to alarming heights and he wasn't recognising anybody. But after the sugar level went down, he knew who was around him. However, on October 2, Dad asked me; 'Who am I?' He had forgotten his own name. That is the time I realised that he'd started going into the other world."

According to reports, the late actor, Ghanshyam Nayak, had once revealed his last wish with his friend, Mr Ghoda. Days before his death, he had said that he wanted to be cremated with his makeup on as he had wanted to stay committed to his work till his last breath. However, the youngest member of the popular show, Samay Shah aka 'Gogi' had revealed that 'Nattu Kaka's' son had fulfilled his last wish for him. In an interview with ETimes TV, Samay had opened up about the same and had said, "He always entertained us. He was a very passionate person, and he had only one desire in life that he would like to die with makeup on. His son fulfilled his wish and called a makeup person to do it."

The late actor, Ghanshyam Nayak, had worked in more than 100 films and 350 television series.
