Tanishaa Mukerji has been grabbing a lot of attention these days, due to her performance in the dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 11. The diva has been winning the hearts of the audience with her swift dance moves and on-point expressions. Younger daughter of veteran actress, Tanuja and the sister of Kajol, Tanishaa, has unfortunately, not been able to mark a successful film career. And now, the diva talked about the same.
In an interaction with Siddharth Kannan, Tanishaa Mukerji talked about her film career which completely went downhill over the years. Recalling a specific moment, she talked about her brother-in-law, Ajay Devgn who stepped into help her dying career when she went out of work for 2-3 years. Revealing how he stepped in and got her a secretary to manage things better, she said:

“Ajay came in later. He realised, ye kya ho raha hai and then he was like, wait a minute baby, let me come in. He came after my launch and after I was out of work for about 2-3 years. It all went downhill. Then Ajay got me a secretary. At that time, there were secretaries. KS Sanjay was fixed as my secretary by Ajay. He is a lovely human being and really takes care of the family.”

Speaking more about her declined career, Tanishaa also talked about a time when she used to get a lot of film offers post her debut. She tagged them as ‘quick films’ which she ended up rejecting, since she couldn’t really connect with the storylines each unravelled. In her words:
“They were quick films. Back then, the story of the films didn’t have substance and depth. It was an odd time in the industry when I came in. I wish I had done more films. It’s not like I didn’t get the offers but I didn’t connect with the subjects. I didn’t identify with the characters and I felt I wasn’t a real actor then.”
Previously, in an episode of the dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 11, Tanishaa delivered a power-packed performance for which she received immense praise from the judges. Impressed with her performance, Farah Khan, who is one of the judges in the show, remarked how the former was a star. However, on hearing such a comment, Tanishaa got emotional and stated that unlike her sister, Kajol and her brother-in-law, Ajay Devgn, she isn’t a star.

Previously in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Tanishaa Mukerji opened up about her journey in the showbiz world and talked about why she wasn’t able to score more as her mother, Tanuja or her sister, Kajol. She mentioned:
“You have to have a strong sense of self. You have to have a strong sense of who you are and that person who will come out on screen. Those are the people who will actually make it, those who have a strong sense of self. Maybe I didn't make it because I didn't have that."
