Talking to Faridoon Shahryar, Tanushree revealed how Vivek Agnihotri harassed her during the making of the film, Chocolate in 2005. Recalling an episode where she reached the set five minutes late and Vivek yelled at her, the actress shared:
“Ek din, jab main set par paanch minute der se pahunchi, to usne mujh par chillaya aur mujhe unprofessional kaha. Kabhi kabhi main set pe aati thi, jab lights bhi nahi lagi hoti thi, kuch set tayaar hi nahi hota tha, matlab jo set-up hota hai na, kuch bhi tayaar nahi hota. Lekin ek din main thoda late aayi, paanch minute, exactly five minutes, aur woh set pe tha sirf yeh dekhne ke liye ki main aayi hoon ya nahi.”
Going further in the conversation, Tanushree also revealed that she was not allowed to go to her vanity van. The actress also revealed that the filmmaker made her uncomfortable by making her sit in short clothes and not letting her wear a robe to cover herself. In her words:
“Artists are supposed to rest in the van when they are not shooting. Especially, agar apne mujhe is tarah ke kapde diye hain – jo short kapde waghera hote hain. Main kabhi robe bhi pehn ke baithti thi to bolta tha ‘Nahi, abhi shot aane wala hai to isko utaaro’. Woh short skirt mein mujhe poori unit ke saamne bitha ke rakhta tha.”

It was in 2018 when Tanushree Dutta exposed the dark reality of the glamour. The actress shared that she was sexually assaulted by veteran actor, Nana Patekar on the set of the 2008 film, Horn ‘OK’ Pleassss. She even went on to accuse him of misbehaving with her verbally as well as physically while shooting for a song for the film.
In an interview with Zoom TV, Tanushree revealed how everyone in the industry knows that Patekar is a women abuser but does nothing. In her words:
“Everyone knows about Nana Patekar. He has always been rude and abusive towards women. Everyone knows that he has a history of assaulting women, and that is an unspoken truth in this industry. When I complained about the same to the producer-director and told them to ask him (Nana Patekar) to stay away from me, they didn’t pay heed. Just because I was new to the film industry, whether or not it was required, let’s do an intimate scene with her."
