Popular comedian, Sudesh Lehri is loved for his humble nature and exceptional humour. His struggle from being a complete outsider to now making a huge name and place in millions of hearts is inspirational. For the unversed, he had made his acting debut in the film industry with the Punjabi film, Wagah (2007). Afterwards. he was also seen in some notable films like Naughty at 40, Ready, Jai ho, Great Grand Masti, and Total Dhamaal.
However, Sudesh Lehri's journey from being third runner-up in the comedy show, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge III (2007) to his various comedy stints on the shows like Comedy Circus and The Kapil Sharma Show has made him a household name. Talking about his family, he is married to his wife, Mamta Lehri, and they are blessed with a son and a daughter.

In a candid conversation with Maniesh Paul, the comedian and actor, Sudesh Lehri opened up about his 'hate marriage'. During the conversation, Maniesh asked him whether he keeps entertaining his family and wife with his humour. In reply to this, he mentioned that since he got married at the age of 17, now no one allows him to speak anything. Further, he added that his wife, Mamta Lehri doesn't understand English and thus he vents out his frustration in that language. He said:
“Choti umar mein shaadi hogayi aur bachche ab barein ho gaye, toh marte hain. Allowed nhi hain. Mtlb kabhi kabhi aese ho ki bachche kahi gaye ho, akeli ho billo toh dhar leta hu. Usko (wife) tab samaj mein nhi aati hai nah. Jaise usko samaj mein nhi aati hain meri english toh main usimein vharas nikal leta hu.”
In the same conversation, Maniesh asked him whether he had a ‘love marriage’. To this, Sudesh promptly replied that he had a ‘hate marriage’. He then explained that since he didn't fall in love during their wedding, he calls it this way. He explained:
“I had a hate marriage. Mujhe pyaar nhi hua. Toh hate marriage and I say it proudly. Sometimes even hate marriages run smoothly. That time, wo free me mil gayi. Aaj ke zamane me kitna kharch hai batao. When I got married, I was very young. I was playing in orchestra. So they thought I might get married elsewhere. She was in our acquaintances. One day I got frustrated and told them I will get married. My family got her from a wedding, which she was attending. They took us to a temple and we got married in presence of just a few people.”

While Maniesh was left in splits, Sudesh hilariously mentioned that he had revealed all the things since he wasasked to speak the truth. However, he added that it doesn't matter if he gets a lashing from his wife for revealing such a secret. He laughingly shared:
“You told me to speak the truth and I spoke the truth. Ghar jaake joote chappal kha lunga. Usme kya hai. Ek do joote k liye panga thodi lunga.”
