The year 2020 was started with the hope of a better and happy future. But no one would have ever thought that four months into it and we will be locked inside our homes because of a virus that came from a distant land! It looks like a scary fiction movie turning into reality. The COVID-19 outbreak in the world has left us all on a halt. It has taken over 1 lakh lives worldwide and the number of cases is increasing with each passing day. In the midst of it, imagining a wedding is next to impossible. The lockdown in India has been increased until May 3, 2020, and it has broken over many girls dream of becoming a summer bride this April. According to reports, almost 1,600 weddings have been postponed because of the coronavirus outbreak in just Uttar Pradesh's capital, Lucknow. Now, just imagine how many weddings might have gotten postponed across the nation. But don't worry, the sun will soon shine upon us and the glorious shaadi season in India will be back. Till then, stay updated as we bring you a bride, who donned a gorgeous pastel lehenga for her D-day.
Meet our bride of the week, Devki Misra, who had tied the knot last year with the man of her dreams, Dhanraj Misra. The gorgeous bride had opted for a pastel pink-toned lehenga from designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee's collection. Her lehenga had gorgeous floral detailing and she had accessorised it with a statement choker neckpiece, an oversized maang teeka and a nath. Her look was completed with subtle dewy-pink makeup. On the other hand, the groom had donned a matching sherwani. He had donned a matching stole and a pink turban with it. This is not the first time, we had spotted a bride donning a unique colour lehenga for her big day. Earlier, we had spotted a bride, Pirtya Chugh, who is a doctor by profession, based in New York. She had made heads turn as she had opted for a classic white-hued floral lehenga from ace designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee for her wedding which was held at Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos I in Spain.
.The bride's lehenga had featured red and yellow hand-painted flowers along with a heavy shimmery border. She had accentuated her look with a heavy choker with ruby stones, matching jhumkas and a maang teeka.
