Travis Scott Released His New Song, 'K-pop', In Collaboration With Bad Bunny And The Weeknd

Ahead of his concert at the Pyramids of Giza, Travis Scott released his first single, K-Pop, from the album, Utopia. He collaborated with Bad Bunny and The Weeknd for this song and released it on July 21, 2023. Travis took to his Instagram account to announce the collaboration with the stalwarts, Bad Bunny and The Weeknd, on July 19, 2023. He posted a picture of a red lollipop and captioned it as ‘Flame Abe Benito, Out Tomorrow Night.’

Travis Scott is a popular American singer, rapper, songwriter and record producer. He has previously worked with The Weeknd on projects like Power Is Power, Pray 4 Love, Wake Up, and Skeletons. Whereas, K-Pop will be Travis’ first collaboration with the Puerto Rican rapper, Bad Bunny. Although in 2017, Travis remixed Bad Bunny’s song, Krippy Kush.

The 32-year-old singer, Travis Scott, uploaded a post following the release of his song, K-Pop, in collaboration with Bad Bunny and The Weeknd. The American rapper posted some behind-the-scenes pictures from the song and shared his excitement with his fans. He said:

“K pop. Outttt nowwwwww. Ahhhhh doing fckkkking flipssssss. Can’t wait to seeee ya in Utoppiaaaa. In just some days we take the sonics uppppppppppppppppp a notchhhhhh”

Travis Scott’s album, Utopia, will be his first album since the tragedy during the Astroworld concert. Travis teased his new album, Utopia, earlier this month with the promise of a performance that will be live-streamed from Egypt. Utopia is the follow-up to Astroworld and has been in the works for almost three years. Travis took to his Instagram and shared a post giving updates regarding his performance. His Instagram caption can be read as:

"UTOPIA LIVE AT THE PYRAMIDS TICKETS AND UTOPIA PACK On TRAVISSCOTT.COM."

What happened at Travis Scott’s Astroworld concert?

During the two-day Astroworld music festival, several people got injured, and at least eight died due to overcrowding at the concert. Travis Scott was performing when the crowd started to push themselves towards the stage, and then this incident occurred. Around 50,000 people attended the concert in Houston.

Is Travis Scott's concert in Egypt cancelled?

According to reports, the Egyptian General Syndicate for Musical Professions cancelled the tour after an online campaign against the rapper, Travis Scott. But afterwards, this news was denied by Live Nation. The entertainment company, Live Nation, clarified the air around this rumour by providing a statement to Rolling Stone. They said: 

"Any claims to the contrary are untrue; there have been no alterations to Travis Scott's performance in Egypt. We can't wait to celebrate Utopia with you in Egypt!"
