The first Indian actress to win the prestigious Padma Shri, Nargis Dutt was known for her grace and an endearing screen presence. From being a flamboyant young girl to an elegant lady, there’s no doubt that the veteran actress aged with grace. Though she had made her screen debut with a minor role at the age of 5 in the film, Talash-E-Haq (1935), her debut movie as a lead actress was in Tamanna (1942). In a career span of over three decades, her contribution to the Hindi film cinema is remarkable and even today, there’s no one like her. And we are sure, there never will be! Nargis Dutt was the happiest when she was with the man she loved, Sunil Dutt and he too, had loved her with all his heart. Mr Dutt had shot to fame with the 1957 film, Mother India in which he had co-starred with Nargis, his then-future wife. Sunil Dutt is an inspiration for many and his journey with wife, Nargis Dutt is an eternal story that proves true love exists. Nargis Dutt had succumbed to pancreatic cancer in 1981.

Expressing her love, Trishala wrote, “I love my grandma” atop her IG story.
This isn’t the first time Trishala Dutt had posted a ‘miss you’ or ‘love you’ note for her late grandparents. In January, Trishala had posted a ‘priceless’ throwback picture with her ‘dadaji’, Sunil Dutt. Sharing the picture, Trishala had written, “#priceless Dadaji” followed by a heart emoji. To which, Sanjay Dutt’s wife and Trishala’s step-mom, Maanayata Dutt had commented with an array of heart emojis. May 25, 2020, had marked to be the 15th death anniversary of Sunil Dutt and his son, Sanjay Dutt had taken a trip down the memory lane to post a compilation of the same on his Instagram handle. Sanjay had posted a video of some childhood and throwback memories with his late father and had captioned it as “With you by my side, I knew that I don't need to worry about anything. Thank you for always having my back. Miss you today and everyday Dad.” Sanjay’s daughter, Trishala Dutt had commented on the post, “15 years missing Dadaji everyday...wish he was here.” Sanjay’s wife, Maanayata Dutt had reacted on the video with a couple of heart emojis.
On Nargis Dutt’s 39th death anniversary in 2020, Sanjay Dutt had posted a throwback black-and-white picture with his mother. In the picture, Sanjay could be seen sitting beside his mother and it seemed they were having an intense conversation when it was clicked. Sanjay had captioned the picture as “It’s been 39 years since you left us but I know you’re always by my side. I wish you were here with me, today & everyday. Love you and miss you everyday Mom.”
In Sanjay Dutt’s biography written by Yaseer Usman, Sanjay Dutt: The Crazy Untold Story of Bollywood’s Bad Boy, his sister, Namrata Dutt had revealed that their mother, Nargis Dutt had tried to be strict with Sanjay during childhood but would end up succumbing to his demands. She had said, “Mom sometimes got angry with Sanjay. She’d spew expletives like suwar, ullu, gadha and even throw a chappal at him.” Sanjay’s sister, Priya Dutt also recalled one concern her mother had, she recalled an incident where Nargis ji thought her son was gay. Talking about the same, she was quoted, “Once I heard Mom say to a friend, “Why is Sanjay’s room always locked when his friends are there? What is the big deal?
