Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar are one of the most loved couples in B-town. Recently, Twinkle shared an intriguing conversation with her husband, Akshay Kumar, about his remarriage.
On August 11, 2024, Twinkle Khanna shared a new blog on The Times Of India's website. She wrote on the topic, 'Haathi & Saathi: What animals can teach us about love, shuv, shaadi.' In the blog, she describes an anecdote from a recent holiday with her husband. The Indian author mentioned they went on a tour in the wilderness when the tour guide told them about a pair of birds called Tik-Tik. As per the guide, the pair of birds share a strong love, and when one of them dies, the other consumes poisonous grass and dies with their partner.

Taking cues from the birds, Twinkle asked Akshay Kumar if she died early, he would remarry or have the poisonous grass. At the same time, she warned the actor that if she gets to know in her afterlife that he has remarried, she will return. Moreover, she will haunt him and his second wife. She penned:
"I told my husband (Akshay), 'Acha (listen), if I die first, you better eat poisonous grass too. If I see your second wife walking around with my handbags, I promise I will come and haunt you both.'"
In the same blog, Twinkle revealed Akshay Kumar's heartwarming response when she asked what he would do if she died first. Akshay said that he was ready to eat poisonous grass at that moment, which would help him from not listening to her questions. In her words:
"He shook his head and replied, 'I want to eat that poisonous grass right now, at least then I won't have to listen to all this nonsense.' Then he swatted a mosquito on my arm, the human equivalent of baboons delousing each other. We continued engaging in the complex choreography of cooperation, affection and mutual tolerance as our jeep raced against the setting sun."
Twinkle shared her love story with Akshay Kumar in an earlier appearance on Koffee with Karan. The former actress shared that she had just come out of a long-term relationship and was looking for a fling when she met him, so she decided to have a fling with him for 15 days. However, they got to share screen space in films like Zulmi and International Khiladi, released in 1999, where they got to know each other better.

Akshay added that Twinkle was doing a movie, Mela, and was confident about its success. She made a bet with him that she would marry him if the film didn't perform at the box office. Mela was a flop on its release in 2000, and Akshay-Twinkle married on January 17, 2001. They have been married for 23 years now. The couple share two kids, a son, Aarav, and a daughter, Nitara.
