Popular politician, Nitin Jairam Gadkari, commonly known as Nitin Gadkari is the longest-serving Minister for Road Transport and Highways, as he has been there over the last eight years. Often regarded as one of the most hardworking and visionary politicians in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nitin Gadkari is lauded for his unfiltered comments on the failure of the Indian government as a whole. In many of his interviews, he has always highlighted the importance of roads and transport in a country's development; no wonder he has done tremendous work for it.
However, once there was an incident when Nitin Gadkari had given orders to demolish his father-in-law's house and also didn't tell his wife about it. Although the politician had talked about it in a lighter tone, but it was enough to prove his devotion towards his work.

Popular politician, Nitin Gadkari, who is the current Minister for Road Transport and Highways had recalled the time when he had given orders to demolish his father-in-law's house. During an event in Haryana, Nitin Gadkari had opened up about the same and stated that when he was newly married to his wife, Kanchan Gadkari. One day the officers of his department informed him about his father-in-law's property, which was on the road and needed to be demolished.
The politician didn't think for a second and immediately gave permission to his team to demolish his father-in-law's house. Not only this, Nitin Gadkari hadn't said anything about it to his wife, Kanchan. With a wide smile on his face, the politician's revelation left everyone in awe of him as he proved that the law is the same for everyone in this society.
"I was newly married. My father-in-law's house was in the middle of the road. Without telling my wife, I had ordered the demolition of my father-in-law's house."
For the unversed, Nitin Gadkari is married to his wife, Kanchan Gadkari, and the couple is blessed with three kids, Nikhil, Sarang and Ketki. All his three kids are married. The eldest son of the couple, Nikhil is married to Rutuja Pathak, Sarang had tied the knot with Madhura Rodi, and Ketki is married to the love of her life, Aditya Kashedikar. The politician always prefers to spend as much time as possible with his family. Over the decades, we have seen Nitin Gadkari always prioritising his family over anything else.

Once in an interview with the media during his visit to Nagpur, Nitin Gadkari had heaped immense praises on his sons, Nikhil Gadkari and Sarang Gadkari. The doting father had admitted that he could fully concentrate on his political career because of his sons, as they're handling the business, which provides the much-needed financial stability in the family. The politician had also advised people to take care of their family first and then join politics. He had said:
"My sons take care of it [the business] and they are handling it in a very professional way... Had that not been the case, then I would have needed a sponsor who would ultimately exert pressure on me in the political arena. That's why I say to everyone, first take care of your family and then join politics."
