One such proud father from B-town is Saif Ali Khan, who is now often referred to as Sara Ali Khan’s father. Despite belonging from a royal family and being a child of famous personalities Sharmila Tagore and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, Saif Ali Khan made his mark in the industry with his talent and charm with a career span of more than two decades. In 2018, Saif and Amrita Singh’s daughter, Sara Ali Khan made her Bollywood debut with Kedarnath and being a perfect combo of confidence, poise, grace, beauty and talent, she has proved that she is here to stay!
The father-daughter duo, Saif Ali Khan and Sara Ali Khan appeared on Karan Johar’s celebrity chat show, Koffee With Karan Season 6, and the fun-filled dynamics between the two generations grabbed the attention like anything. The phrase ‘A daughter is her father’s little angel’ epitomizes this celeb daddy-daughter duo. According to a Bollywood Hungama, a source revealed that Saif Ali Khan was petrified to watch his daughter, Sara Ali Khan’s debut film, Kedarnath and he took a while to watch it. The report stated, “He is just petrified to watch Sara on screen. Kareena keeps urging him to watch Kedarnath. But, Saif keeps putting it off.” But after watching the film, Saif was all praises for his daughter and said that he wasn’t surprised by Sara’s performance because he always knew she had it in her.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, when Saif was asked whether he was surprised by Sara’s confidence on screen, he replied, “Yes and no. The thought behind her shot is clear. It’s amazing. Way better than what I was.” Saif elaborated further, “I’m so happy for her. This was her choice all the way. She chose this and made it happen. And I thought she was brilliant. A thinking actress who is expressive and inventive in every shot. Sharing that Sara always dreamt of being an actor, Saif was quoted as saying, “She is used to being good at what she loves, but I thank the people for welcoming her and giving her the acceptance that an actor needs.” In another throwback interview, he expressed his nervousness upon Sara entering the film domain. Saif had shared, “(I am) A little nervous. Fear is the most driving factor in the industry. I am not looking down on acting, it's just it is not the most stable profession. And everyone lives in constant fear. And there is no guarantee that despite doing your best, you will succeed. This is not the life, any parent would want for their children."
In yet another interview, Saif stated, “She has a lot of well-wishers around her, from her mother (Amrita Singh) to me, Karan Johar to everybody. She can seek advice from anybody. I am very happy that she is doing something she is passionate about and it’s a beautiful job." Speaking about his and Sara’s relationship, Saif was quoted as saying in an interview, “I was quite young when I had Sara, we have a drink together from time to time. We are more like friends, so there's very little I can lecture her on in that sense. It's a bit odd, someone might even cast us in movie."
