Amitabh Bachchan has always been an inspiration to millions. The Shahenshah of Bollywood has contributed some of the finest films to Indian cinema. Amitabh Bachchan rose to fame with the 1973 hit film, Zanjeer and since then, there was no looking back for him.
Amitabh Bachchan, who enjoys the status of God in India, had faced a nearly death experience in 1982. The entire nation had held their breath when the news headlines had flashed a fatal accident of the superstar on the sets of his film, Coolie. After battling for his life, Amitabh Bachchan was reborn on August 2, 1982.

We have recently stumbled upon a throwback video of Amitabh Bachchan coming back to his home after being discharged from the hospital. It was a huge day for all his fans, as their favourite star got his second life after being declared clinically dead by the doctors. In the video, Amitabh Bachchan was seen stepping out of his white ambassador car and taking blessings from his father, Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan. Amitabh was also seen hugging and kissing his kids, Shweta Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan.
To give an insight into what happened on that fateful day, it was an intense fight sequence between Amitabh Bachchan and Puneet Issar. Amitabh was supposed to land on the table, but instead, he misjudged the jump and landed with the edge of the table, hitting his abdomen, causing a massive internal haemorrhage. When he was rushed to the hospital, he was declared ‘clinically dead’ for a few minutes. But multiple surgeries and the prayers of his family and fans brought him back to life.
It's been 38 years, and the Bachchan family and Amitabh Bachchan's fans still remember the day vividly when the entire nation had prayed and chanted for their superstar. On August 2, 2019, Abhishek Bachchan had recalled the incident. He had taken to his IG handle and had posted a monochrome picture with his sister (Shweta Nanda) and father post the accident.

Along with the picture, he had written, "#flashbackfriday 37 years ago in the Breach Candy hospital. My father was recovering from a near-fatal accident on the sets of his film Coolie. Today- 2nd August we celebrate his second birthday as he was miraculously revived by the doctors on this day. Happy Birthday, Pa! Love you. #TrueLegendsAreBornTwice".
In January 2021, when Amitabh Bachchan had reached 45 million followers on his Twitter handle. The superstar had shared a ‘special’ picture posted by one of his fans. Along with the throwback picture, he had revealed why the picture was close to his heart as it was from the time when he had come home surviving his Coolie accident.
Along with the picture, he had written, “The picture and caption from a fan announces the 45 million I have reached on Twitter, but the picture says a lot more... It’s the moment I came home after surviving from death after my ‘Coolie’ accident… It’s the first time ever I saw my Father break down… A very concerned Abhishek on the side looks on.”
