Actor, Varun Dhawan, who burst onto the Bollywood scene 12 years ago with Karan Johar's Student of the Year , recently made another debut. Yes, he made his first appearance on the professional networking platform, LinkedIn, amassing over 20,000 followers within 24 hours. Clearly, several fans were excited to see the actor, who already has millions of followers on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, on the platform. However, Varun's move was also met with a fair amount of ridicule and trolling. This seems to have led him to delete his account within just four days of creating it.
With his first post going out on the very same day that he joined LinkedIn, it's safe to say that Varun Dhawan was excited to be on the platform. However, the actor's professional bio received intense trolling from netizens as it described him as a "passionate actor with 300-crore megahits." His bio further read:
"From headlining 300-crore mega hits to exploring niche, content-driven films, my journey has been about balancing creativity with audience impact. Whether it's leading a sports team in Student of the Year or exploring supernatural worlds in Bhediya, I believe in pushing boundaries and creating value for every stakeholder in the entertainment ecosystem."
Varun had listed himself as an "Actor, Investor, and Assistant Director." And the actor didn't take long to share his first post on the platform. In it, Varun stated that working in the film industry for over a decade had taught him about the importance of hard work, teamwork, and constant evolution. He further revealed that he was especially excited about the opportunity to connect with professionals from all industries and not just entertainment.
However, within just four days of joining the platform, Varun Dhawan's LinkedIn profile seems to have been deleted. When the actor has not commented on the reason behind the same, the trolling could have contributed to his decision.
Not long after Varun Dhawan joined LinkedIn, the news went viral on social media platforms like Reddit. And the trolling followed. A user on one subreddit wrote, "key projects. dead is he mocking them or himself," while another commented, "Sorry which film of his did 300 cr?".

Some netizens even wondered if the move was a promotional stunt or had been orchestrated by LinkedIn itself. One user penned, "This gotta be for a promotion. But now all the others will follow his footsteps if this becomes big. People have already turned LinkedIn into Instagram reels by dancing around," while another penned, "LinkedIn has paid him for this , they did the same with Sunil Shetty." Eagle-eyed netizens even caught on to his profile being deleted within days of joining the platform.
