The story of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham's relationship resembles a fairytale. Despite growing up just 15 minutes apart in London, they didn't cross paths until years later. They met for the very first time in 1997. At that time, Victoria was known as ‘Posh Spice’ of the Spice Girls, while David played for Manchester United. After a whirlwind romance, they got engaged in 1998. David and Victoria became parents the following year. Later, in July 1999, the couple tied the knot in Dublin.
The couple has been married for 24 years and has four children: Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper. However, their fairytale was not devoid of problems or controversies. In Netflix’s docuseries, Beckham, the duo, Victoria and David, revealed details regarding the most challenging time of their lives.

According to The Sun's report, Victoria Beckham spoke out about the emotional distress she experienced following her husband, David's alleged infidelity. The renowned English footballer also shared that their relationship faced significant strain when he was accused of having a brief romantic encounter during his time playing in Spain back in 2003. The Beckhams have always denied the rumours that David had an affair during his time with Real Madrid in 2003. However, they have recently opened up about working to save their relationship. Victoria said:
“It was the most unhappy I have ever been in my entire life.”
Back in that time, Victoria was residing in England with their two older sons, Brooklyn and Romeo, while David was playing for Real Madrid in Spain. As expected, the distance had an impact on their relationship. Victoria decided to relocate to Spain to support David during the aftermath of the rumours. She said:
“It was the hardest period because it felt like the world was against us. Here’s the thing — we were against each other, if I’m being completely honest. You know, up until Madrid, sometimes it felt like us against everybody else, but we were together, we were connected, we had each other.”

Victoria Beckham describes the time they were in Spain as a nightmare. She further mentioned that she felt like not having each other’s support during that time of her life. She said:
“But when we were in Spain, it didn’t really feel like we had each other either. And that’s sad. I can’t even begin to tell you how hard it was and how it affected me. It was a nightmare. It was an absolute circus — and everyone loves it when the circus comes to town, right? Unless you’re in it.”

The former English footballer, David Beckham, also shared his experience regarding the controversy surrounding them. He reiterated that Victoria meant everything to him, and seeing her hurt was the most challenging thing. He said:
“Victoria is everything to me, to see her hurt was incredibly difficult, but we’re fighters, and at that time, we needed to fight for each other, we needed to fight for our family. And what we had was worth fighting for.”
Victoria Beckham also shared an interesting memory of being in labour with her third son, Cruz, in 2005. Unfortunately, David, her husband, was not present as he had a celebrity photoshoot to attend. A newspaper clipping displayed a photo of David surrounded by famous A-listers such as Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce. Reminiscing that time, Victoria said:
“I was like, ‘Seriously, I’m about to burst, I’m on bed rest. Are you kidding me?! You’ve got a damn photoshoot with Jennifer Lopez, who is gorgeous and not about to have a baby.”
The fashion designer further said that someone showed her the photo of her husband with JLo and Queen Bey, and the headline further agitated her. She said:
“So, I had my C-section, and I remember lying there, I don’t feel at my most gorgeous, let’s just say, and I remember someone showing me the front page of the newspaper, which was a gorgeous picture of David between Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé and the headline was ‘What would Posh say?’ Let me tell you what Posh would say. Posh was p****d off!”
