Vijay Varma is one of the well-known actors who has recently come into the spotlight with his hard work and immense acting prowess. He is a graduate of the FTII and became famous for his performance in the 2016 film, Pink. He went on to star in popular movies like Middle-Class Abbayi, Gully Boy, Mirzapur, Darlings and Baaghi 3. Being an outsider, Vijay Varma's journey to fame wasn't easy. In a new interview, Vijay opened up about his career's 'lowest phase'.
Recently, Vijay Varma sat down for an interview with Shubhankar Mishra for his YouTube channel. During the conversation, the actor recalled the early struggles in his acting career. For the unversed, Vijay began his acting journey as a theatre artist in his hometown, Hyderabad, where he acted in various plays. Later, the actor shifted to Pune, where he studied acting at FTII, and moved his base to Mumbai for better opportunities.

Vijay added that when he was trying to establish his acting career in Mumbai, he had stopped taking money from his home because his father wasn't talking to him as he wanted to make a career in the acting world. At the same time, he didn't have many acting opportunities up his sleeve, which left him with little money. The situation became difficult, and he had only Rs. 18 in his account, so he could eat panipuri or idli with that small amount. He was quoted as saying:
"It was a very bad time, it was my lowest low. There was just Rs 18 in my account and I could either eat panipuri or idli. I had stopped taking money from home because my father wasn't talking to me."
In the same interview, Vijay said that he felt lost and confused during that time. He didn't have finances and wanted to make a successful acting career. At that point, he even played a minor role for money, which was a bad experience for the actor. During that time, he got valuable advice from someone that he wouldn't have a drive within himself if he had enough finances. So, Vijay took motivation from his difficulties to work forward. In his words:
"I was told that if my rent and allowance was sorted, I would not work hard, so I should let that fire within me get strong. In 2-3 months, I was left with nothing, that time I played a small role for money and it was a very bad experience. So it was the lowest low of my life."
Vijay Varma was last seen in Murder Mubarak, co-starring Pankaj Tripathi, Sara Ali Khan, Vijay Varma, and Dimple Kapadia. He is currently busy with the promotions of his new web series, IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, which will be released on August 29, 2024. He will next be seen in the Tamil film Suriya43 and another film, Ul Jalool Ishq.
