His fans eagerly awaited the following projects when he made the shocking decision to retire. While fans were divided about the actor's sudden announcement, a director who has worked with Vikrant shared his thoughts on the actor's decision.
B-Town actor, Vikrant Massey shocked everyone with his retirement announcement. In the early hours of December 2, 2024, the actor announced that he was stepping back from films. However, Vikrant did not give a reason for his sudden decision. A director who had previously worked with the actor shared his thoughts on the matter. The director sat with a chat with India Today on the condition that his identity be kept anonymous.
He shared that Vikrant was being flooded with offers. The director further revealed that the actor was afraid of overexposing himself. Like many of his fans, Vikrant's former director also agreed that the actor has made a brave decision. He said:
"Vikrant doesn’t want to spread himself too thin. He has been flooded with offers from OTT and movies. His fear is that he is overexposing himself, and the audience might soon be tired of him. He’s often expressed this worry in his conversations about doing too many films and tiring his audience out. So it’s a brave decision to take a break and give yourself some time. Why not?"
Ever since Vikrant Massey announced his retirement, many sources have come forward to share their bit on his announcement. Another industry source told The Outlet that Vikrant's announcement could be a strategy to relaunch himself. He shared that there is a possibility that this break could be a PR plan for Vikrant to relaunch a new version of himself in the upcoming film, Don 3. He said:
"He’s most likely to play the negative lead in the next Don being made by Excel Entertainment. I won’t be surprised if this break could be a way of reinventing himself and then doing a relaunch with a totally new look and style. Vikrant has always been a thinking actor. He’s not someone who does things on the surface, so this break could have something to do with Don 3."
Vikrant Massey took to his Instagram handle on December 2, 2024, and announced his retirement. The actor shared that the last few years had been phenomenal for him, and he was grateful for the support he got from his fans. He added that it was time for him to recalibrate and go home. He wrote:
