Bollywood actor, Vikrant Massey is finally getting the recognition he deserves. With his recent successful films, 12th Fail and Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba, he is winning the audience’s hearts and increasing his fanbase. From doing odd jobs and living the life of a middle-class boy to now being one of the most popular actors in B-Town, Vikrant Massey has come a long way in his career and life.

The Blackout actor has revealed some incidents in the past that gave us a glimpse of his struggles and how he managed to earn Rs. 35 lakh per month as a TV actor. Vikrant Massey’s journey from television shows to movies

Vikrant Massey was born in 1987 in a middle-class house. His father was the only earning member, while his mother was a housewife. Vikrant's father's monthly salary would run out by the 15th of every month, so the actor was very well-versed in his financial struggles. Whether it was doing odd jobs for his education or losing his close friends for being a middle-class person, the Lootera actor overcame all the obstacles and is now shining as the youngest versatile actor in the industry.

Having made his acting debut in the television show Dhoom Machao Dhoom, Vikrant has also received training in contemporary and jazz dancing. Additionally, he has worked as an assistant choreographer with Shiamak Davar. After receiving much appreciation for his debut role, he gathered fame from television soap operas Balika Vadhu and Qubool Hai. Before making it big in the movies, he also expanded his portfolio by hosting popular television shows like V The Serial and Yeh Hai Aashiqui.

Vikrant marked the beginning of his Bollywood journey when he starred alongside Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha in the movie, Lootera, a Vikramaditya Motwane’s directorial. From then on, he became the first choice of many directors for playing underrated characters. Be it his supportive role in Dil Dhadakne Do or his first lead role in the film, A Death In The Gunj, Vikrant Massey was always above average, and slowly, his fandom increased with other movies like Chhapaak, Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi, Gaslight, and Ginny Weds Sunny.

From being a romantic hero in the show, Broken But Beautiful to playing a passionate UPSC aspirant in 12th Fail, Vikrant Massey has won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor for his performance in the latter film.

Vikrant has done exceptionally well in past films. He received acclaim when he starred in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's movie 12th Fail. The actor has been enjoying the attention from his latest movie, Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba. In a previous interview, Vikrant mentioned that in his early life, he worked at a café and as an assistant choreographer so that his education wouldn’t be interrupted.

In an another interview with Unfiltered by Samdish on YouTube, Massey shared an incident that many middle-class youngsters would relate to. He recalled inviting some of his close friends to his house and immediately sensed their discomfort as soon as they entered. He said:

“Jab gharki dasha dekhi unhone, unhone dekha ki plastic ki kursiyan hai ghar pe, paint chip ho raha hai, silan lagi hai gharpe, kitchen unke hisaab se aesthetically clean nahi tha. Toh agle din se phir unka bartaav meri taraf badal gaya.”

Vikrant added that he got hold of the chats where people mocked him and the condition of his house. But he ignored these comments, worked hard, and things began to work in his favour when he entered the television industry. Vikrant confirmed that he bought his first house at 24 and earned Rs. 35 lakh per month. However, he said that it was a lot of money for him to handle at that time, so he shifted to movies.
