Vikrant Massey took the internet by storm after he made an unexpected announcement of quitting acting in 2025. Hours after the revelation, Vikrant made his first public appearance at the Parliament premises for the screening of his latest film, The Sabarmati Report, alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several MPs. Following the successful screening, a video went viral on social media, which captured the actor walking away when asked about his decision.
Vikrant’s retirement announcement earlier today came as a big shock to the industry, especially considering that the 12th Fail actor is thriving in his career at the moment. While Vikrant confirmed his retirement news, some are calling it nothing more than a PR stunt.
Today was also the first time that Vikrant’s latest movie, The Sabarmati Report, was screened in the Parliament, alongside PM Narendra Modi and other members. Following the screening, Vikrant attended reporters with his co-star, Raashii Khanna. Speaking to the media, Vikrant called watching his film with the Prime Minister the ‘highest point’ of his career. Talking about the monumental moment, the actor said:
“I still can’t fully express how special it feels.”
However, when quizzed about his retirement announcement, Vikrant sidestepped the topic and walked away, leaving co-star Raashii Khanna to address questions about the film. Soon after, a video snippet of the moment made rounds on social media, raising speculations that this might not be a PR stunt after all.

“The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realise it's time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor. So coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. Last 2 movies and many years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between. Forever indebted.”
Vikrant’s latest release, The Sabarmati Report, a social drama based on the 2002 Godhra train incident, is making waves. Declared tax-free in states like Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat, the film has resonated with audiences, already crossing Rs. 35.56 crores at the box office since its release on November 15.
