Late politician, Vilasrao Dagadojirao Deshmukh, commonly known as Vilasrao Deshmukh is one of the most loved and respected politicians in Maharashtra's political history. He is still remembered as one of the best Chief Ministers the state has ever witnessed. Vilasrao Deshmukh was often referred to in the media as 'People's Minister', courtesy to his outstanding work for the betterment of the entire state. For the uninitiated, Vilasrao Deshmukh was elected as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra two times during his political career, from 1999-2003 and 2004-2008.
However, it was on August 14, 2012, when everyone's favourite minister had passed away due to multiple organ failures in a hospital in Chennai. Now, on his birth anniversary, his actor-son, Riteish Deshmukh and actress-daughter-in-law, Genelia Deshmukh, paid their respective heart-melting tributes to him through their emotional notes on their respective social media handles.

On the occasion of his father's 77th birth anniversary, Riteish shared these pictures, in which his sons can be seen donning matching printed kurta-pyjama sets. A close-up of the photo frame that featured a smiling picture of Vilasrao Deshmukh melted everyone's hearts. However, more than these pictures, it was Riteish's heart-melting note in the caption that once again proved that he's a doting son, who misses his dearest daddy every single day of his life. Riteish's emotional note in the caption can be read as:
"I want to … I want to hug you tight, wish you happy birthday, touch your feet and be blessed. I want to … I want to see you laugh, pat my back by and say I am always there. I want to… I want to hold your hand, walk with you, press your feet and gaze at you. I want to… I want to see you play, share a joke, carry your grand kids and tell them a story… I so badly want to…. Happy Birthday Pappa - I miss you!!! #vilasraodeshmukh."

Vilasrao Deshmukh's doting daughter-in-law, Genelia Deshmukh also took to her IG handle and shared a solo picture of her father-in-law. In the picture, the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra can be seen attending an event and donning a cream-coloured kurta. Along with this throwback picture, Genelia also penned a note in the caption, in which she admitted that her father-in-law was the 'greatest man' she knew in her life. Genelia also opened up about the things her kids, Riaan Deshmukh and Rahyl Deshmukh say about him. Her note in the caption can be read as:
"To the greatest man I know.. Dearest Pappa, Every year on your birthday, we hope we would get just one more chance to celebrate you and that's something that will always be a miss in our lives but it's so special to hear the kids say "My Ajoba is the greatest" even though they have never met you, I sometimes think some bonds are just meant to be and it redefines just having to meet or see people everyday, it's one of the heart, one of a connection that we just can't comprehend. Thank you for making us feel your presence everyday Pappa, I know it's you saying "I will always be there". Happy Birthday Pappa #vilasraodeshmukh."

Back in 2013, in a heart-to-heart interview with the DNA, Ritiesh Deshmukh had opened up about how he had managed to cope with the massive loss of his father's demise. Answering this, Riteish had explained how it's the biggest loss in a person's life, and nothing else can match the pain a person goes through when they lose their parent. Then, reflecting on his personal suffering, he had shared:
"I don't know how to answer that. It's an irreparable loss. You can't compare it to anything. It's really strange that suddenly a person is not there in your life and then you realise — I won't say value because as a child you always value your parents — how life will never be the same again. There is a huge void. Sometimes I still feel he is there."
Well, we are in love by the way Riteish and Genelia never skip a chance to shower their immense love for late Vilasrao Deshmukh!
