Vinod Kambli's Wife Hit Singer, Ankit Tiwari's Father With Sandals For Touching Her Inappropriately

One of the veteran and renowned cricket players on India's team, Vinod Kambli, was a rage. He was the first cricketer to score a century in a One-day International. Though Vinod took retirement long back, he has appeared as a commentator on various television channels. Considered one of the best cricketers in history, Vinod has garnered a lot of attention recently.

A few months back, a video of the cricketer made its way to social media, where he was seen struggling to walk and being carried by a group of men. Vinod has always been amid controversies and has made headlines at various events. Something similar happened a few years back when he and his wife, Andrea Hewitt, were accused of assaulting playback singer, Ankit Tiwari’s father.

It was in 2018 when singer, Ankit Tiwari’s father, Raj Kumar Tiwari, filed a complaint against Vinod and his wife, Andrea. He also accused Vinod’s wife of taking her sandals off to beat him. Raj Kumar Tiwari was spending his Sunday along with his family at the Inorbit Mall in Mumbai when the incident took place.

Vinod Kambli alleged Ankit Tiwari’s father touched Andrea inappropriately

As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Vinod alleged that RK Tiwari inappropriately touched his wife, Andrea, which led to the scuffle. Talking about the same, Vinod stated:

“We were at the mall around 3 pm when my wife caught hold of an old man’s hand. When she caught him in the act, he pushed her away. When we were at the food court, two men, who we assume were the man’s sons, tried to attack my wife.”

Ankit Tiwari’s brother accused the celebrity couple of physical assault

Ankit Tiwari’s brother, Ankur Tiwari, was also present when the incident happened. As per reports, Ankur accused the celebrity couple of assaulting their 59-year-old father. He also stated that his father was disoriented after the attack. In his words:

“He couldn’t believe he had been punched, and that a woman was screaming, accusing him of brushing his hand against her. I asked my father to identify the woman, and we realised she was Kambli’s wife.”

Vinod Kambli’s first marriage was with a receptionist named Noella Lewis. Vinod Kambli and Noella Lewis got married in 1998. However, the marriage didn't last long, and soon, they parted ways with each other. After parting ways with his first wife, Noella Lewis, Vinod Kambli fell in love with an established fashion model, Andrea Hewitt.

He converted to Christianity to marry Andrea, and the duo tied the knot in 2006. The couple welcomed a boy, Jesus, in 2010 and a girl, Johanna, in 2014. However, in 2023, Andrea reportedly filed an FIR at the Bandra police station, in which she accused her husband of domestic violence. Andrea revealed that Kambli allegedly threw a cooking pan at her, due to which she had suffered a major head injury. The news created a stir across India, but Kambli wasn't arrested.

Vinod Kambli is currently battling a urine infection, which led to his sudden collapse.
