In June 2018, Virat Kohli was awarded the Best International Cricketer at the annual BCCI Awards in Bengaluru and he was accompanied by his wife, Anushka Sharma as they had both twinned in black for the event. While Anushka was all cheery for her hubby, Virat had credited all the glory in his life to his dear wifey. In his winning speech, Virat had said, “My wife’s here today, so it’s more special. The Awards didn’t happen last year, but I am glad they didn’t, as she is here today.”
While Anushka Sharma always makes sure to be with her cricketer-husband during his matches and even if she can't, she watches the match on the screen to cheer for him, Virat Kohli too, leaves no stone unturned to compliment his wife for her professional achievements. Anushka's Netflix production, Bulbbul released on June 24, 2020, and while it received mix reviews from the audience, Virat was all-praises. To shower praises on his wife and brother-in-law, Virat wrote, "Loved this moving story told in a brilliant way. Bhai behen on fire @anushkasharma @kans26. This isn't the first time when Virat Kohli had taken to his social media handle to praise his wife, Anushka Sharma for her work. On May 15, 2020, Anushka Sharma’s production venture, Paatal Lok was released on Amazon Prime Video and the reviews were quite amazing by the critics. Not only the audience but her husband, Virat Kohli too, was all-praises for his wife. Posting a picture, Virat had praised Anushka and had written, “Having watched the whole season of PAATAL LOK a while ago, I knew it's a masterpiece of story telling, screenplay and tremendous acting. Now having seen how people loved it too, just confirmed how I saw the show. In 2018, Anushka Sharma’s film, Zero along with Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif, had gotten mixed reviews, mostly lukewarm, from audience and critics. But Virat Kohli was seemed to be bowled by his wifey’s performance. Sharing that he had enjoyed the film immensely and that he found Anushka’s part quite challenging, Virat had tweeted, “Saw @Zero21Dec and loved the entertainment it brought. I enjoyed myself. Everyone played their parts well. Loved @AnushkaSharma performance because I felt it was a very challenging role and she was outstanding.”
A few days back, Virat Kohli had posted a throwback picture with his 'one and only', Anushka Sharma where he had recalled the pre-pandemic life. Virat had captioned his lost-in-each-other's-eyes picture with Anushka, as "Throwback to when you could go to such beautiful spots in nature. Just to be able to sit together and just soak it all in.
