The startling revelation created a stir on major social media platforms, Douyin, Xiaohongshu, and Sina Weibo microblog.

For the unversed, back in 2016, China launched a 'clean up' campaign in order to keep a check on the kind of content influencers were making as the country's youth was getting heavily influenced by them.

In 2022, the Chinese government added a 'code of conduct' for live streams and strictly told influencers not to display super-expensive luxury products, jewellery, swanky assets, or cash. As per a report in the Financial Express, the Cyberspace Administration in China was targeting social media influencers, who were flaunting an ultra-luxurious lifestyle in their videos, photos, and live streams, which was distracting the youngsters.

According to a report in China Daily, Wang Quan Hong Xing was once criticised for showcasing his right-figure outfit on social media, as it received a lot of comments from youngsters and teenagers. Apart from this, Wang Quan Hong Xing also confessed that he owns a 991-square-meter mansion. All these claims paved the way for his ban from social media, as he violated the content rules set up by the Chinese government for influencers. The banning of Wang Quan Hong Xing from social media has once again ignited the debate over regulating content creation on social media across the world.
