When Dimple Kapadia Was Denied Entry To Rajesh Khanna's Bungalow, Was Lied And Threatened To Leave

Rajesh Khanna ruled the silver screen in the 60s and 70s like no other. He was one of the rare gems who gave the Indian film industry its identity. Being India’s first superstar, Rajesh Khanna was always in the news, courtesy of his personal life and affairs, which made many headlines. However, one of the most talked about topics about his life was his marriage to Dimple Kapadia.

For the unversed, Rajesh Khanna got married to Dimple Kapadia in March 1973, in a lavish affair. However, their marriage hit rock bottom after Rajesh's affair with the then-budding actress, Tina Munim made headlines. Rajesh and Dimple got separated in 1984 but never got officially divorced. They were blessed with two daughters, Twinkle Khanna and Rinke Khanna. Rajesh and Dimple stayed in an amicable relationship despite parting ways, and they co-parented their daughters. The duo was also often seen together at social gatherings, political rallies, and many other places.

Dimple Kapadia was Rajesh Khanna's die-hard fan

However, not many know that Dimple Kapadia was once refused by the guards to enter Rajesh Khanna’s residence. It happened back in the time when Dimple had not entered the showbiz. Just like today, fans gather outside their favourite actor's homes on any milestone occasion, something similar happened back then also. According to reports, when the 1970 film, Safar, was released, Dimple Kapadia used to study in St Joseph Convent. She had bunked her classes and went to watch the film.

Dimple Kapadia was denied entry to Rajesh's home

After watching the film, Dimple wanted to meet Rajesh Khanna and reached his residence, Aashirwad. However, she was stopped by the guards. Dimple told them that she was a diehard fan of Rajesh Khanna and wanted to meet him. But the guards reportedly said that the actor was not at his home and asked her to leave. This broke Dimple's heart and she was disappointed.

However, as Dimple was about to leave, she saw a car going inside Rajesh's house, and Anju Mahendru stepped out. For the unversed, Rajesh Khanna was dating model, fashion designer, and actress, Anju Mahendru back then, and they were in a live-in relationship for seven years. Watching this, Dimple confronted the guards for lying and slammed them. However, they allegedly threatened to call the police, and thus, Dimple had to leave from there immediately.

Rajesh Khanna lived his life king-sized, and he lives in our hearts rent-free.
