After her fair stint in the fashion world, Kunal Nayyar’s wife, Neha Kapur, launched her own luxury fashion brand, Hensley. The brand features luxe fabrics with a mix of both Western and Indian designs, which can be worn on every occasion. In an interview with Vogue, Neha talked about the mixed trends in her brand and said:
“I wanted to put together something that mixed my Eastern sensibility with something that had a kind of storytelling behind it. I wanted it to be not just a classic brand. I wanted it to have that extra niche.”
It was during his visit to India in 2008 that Kunal met Neha for the first time at a bar launch party. It was indeed a case of ‘love at first sight’ for Kunal. In an interview with People magazine, Neha recalled their first meeting and said:
“Kunal was visiting India, and my friend called me, saying, “Oh, this really great guy is visiting from America.” There was a party at a bar, and I saw Kunal dressed all LA, the star; the glasses…”
In their first meeting itself, Kunal and Neha connected with each other. Kunal stayed for nine more days in Delhi, and all those days, they spent a lot of time together. In the same interview with People, Kunal revealed how he bonded with Neha at their first meeting and revealed:
“We talked about our childhoods in New Delhi. Gradually, I think she could tell I was not a creep and she began to open up. There was something beautiful about the rawness of her emotion. I had known her for two hours, and I was getting hooked."
Neha and Kunal were in a long-distance relationship during their dating phase. She lived in Delhi, and he lived in Los Angeles. The couple faced all the highs and lows of their lives by staying miles away from each other.
In 2011, Kunal and Neha got married in their hometown in a traditional Indian style wedding. With 1000 guests and a week-long pre-wedding celebration, the wedding was graced by some of the glamour world's A-listers.
