Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, commonly referred to as S. Jaishankar is India's Minister of External Affairs, whose name often appears in the news headlines every now and then. There have been numerous occasions when the thirtieth EAM (External Affairs Minister) shut down the critics and opposition with his hard-hitting responses. Some of his most famous statement that broke the internet came at the the GLOBESEC 2022 Bratislava Forum when he took a jibe at Europe. S. Jaishankar said, "Europe has to grow out of the mindset that Europe's problems are the world's problems, but the world's problems aren't Europe's problems."
For the uninitiated, S. Jaishankar is only the second diplomat after Natwar Singh, who was appointed as India's Minister of External Affairs. It was back in 1977 when S. Jaishankar started his career as a diplomat when he joined the Indian Foreign Services (IFS). In a career spanning nearly four decades, he has served as the High Commissioner to Singapore and Ambassador to the Czech Republic, China, and the US. Courtesy of his tremendous work as an Indian diplomat, he was awarded the prestigious Padma Shri award in 2019.
