However, it’s not her acting that is making her the talk of the town, the star kid is reportedly in a relationship with Mumbai-based businessman, Karan Kothari, and it is reported that they were college sweethearts.

Karan Kothari is the son of Avinash Kothari, the owner of the high-end luxe jewellery brand, Kothari Fine Jewels. Karan was born and brought up in Mumbai, but he pursued his higher education in Los Angeles. This was also where he reportedly met Shanaya Kapoor, as the two attended the same college. 

Despite being the heir to a renowned jewellery empire, Karan has carved his own path in the business world. He founded Silky Tiger Inc., a startup in LA that specialises in trade ventures, digital branding, and different economic empowerment initiatives. Currently, he is a partner at Kaeya Inc., leading projects focused on uplifting underprivileged communities in India through economic development. Other than this, Karan has also played a key role at Produce Pay Inc., working to enhance market access for Latin American farmers and secure better opportunities for them.

Shanaya Kapoor and Karan Kothari’s dating buzz

Shanaya and Karan have been allegedly linked since their college days, but neither of them has confirmed nor denied their relationship. However, their dating buzz in B-town started in early 2023 when they were spotted together at various events. One of the major hints was when both Shanaya and Karan posted pictures from the Malvides on their respective Instagram handles, and eagle-eyed fans couldn’t help but find similarities in their backdrops, even though they never shared any photos from the trip together. Adding fuel to the buzz, it was not long after the incident that Karan made his IG profile private.

The most recent buzz surrounding their relationship surfaced when Karan was seen publicly supporting Shanaya for her Bollywood debut. A few days ago, Shanaya shared a teaser of her debut film on her IG, and Karan reported it on his own handle, cheering for her and calling the film a long-awaited dream coming true. This sweet gesture has once again led fans to assume that the two could indeed be more than just friends.

About Shanaya Kapoor’s Bollywood debut

Shanaya Kapoor has a busy year ahead as she is preparing for her debut in Bollywood with the musical drama, Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan, opposite Vikrant Massey. The film is allegedly inspired by Ruskin Bond’s popular short story, The Eyes Have It. Shanaya plays the role of a theatre actress, whereas Vikrant plays a blind musician in the film. The film is reportedly set to be released in mid-2025.

Shanaya has another film, Tu Yaa Main, lined up, and she will be starring alongside Adarsh Gourav. The film’s production house, Colour Yellow Productions, is known for backing critically acclaimed films like Tumbbad and Haseen Dillruba. The film is reportedly set to be released on Valentine’s Day 2026.

Well, as Shanya Kapoor gears for her first big break in Bollywood, her personal life keeps resurfacing. Only time will tell if she and Karan Kothari will make things official.
