It is a proud moment for India, as the world's longest river cruise, the Ganga Vilas luxury cruise is all set to be launched. The cruise reached Ramnagar port in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh on January 10, 2023. As per multiple media reports, the giant cruise had left Kolkata on December 22, 2022, and was scheduled to reach Varanasi on January 7, 2023, but it got late due to bad weather.
Now, the luxury cruise has reached the Ramnagar port, it will move to Sant Ravidas ghat in Varanasi where it will receive a grand welcome. For the unversed, the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi will virtually flag off the Ganga Vilas Cruise Yatra on January 13, 2023, via video conferencing. Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, and Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, will also attend the flag-off ceremony at the Ravidas Ghat.

A few moments back, the news agency, ANI took to its official Twitter handle and shared a series of pictures of the Ganga Vilas cruise ship. Clicked at dusk, the pictures showed the opulent cruise ship anchored at the port amid the foggy backdrop. In some pictures, we can also see some tourists getting off the ship and walking towards the port. Alongside the pictures, a caption was penned, which can be read as:
"Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh | The Ganga Vilas luxury cruise, which left Kolkata on December 22, reached Ramnagar Port in Varanasi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually flag off the MV Ganga Vilas Cruise Yatra on January 13."

The opulent Ganga Vilas cruise has 18 suites well-equipped with all the necessary amenities. Each of the suites has been tastefully decorated and has a unique design along with a futuristic perspective. Apart from this, the suites are furnished with a range of amenities, which include an LED TV, a safe, a bathroom, convertible beds, a French balcony, smoke alarms, and life vests. Well, not just this, for the tourists' recreational activities, the cruise has many facilities, such as a gym, spa, outdoor deck, private butler service, music, cultural events, and much more.

The triple-deck cruise, MV Ganga Vilas, is ready to embark on the world's longest river journey, which will last for 52 days. The Ganga Vilas will travel a total distance of 3200 kilometres in 50 days. Starting from Varanasi, the cruise will end the trip at Dibrugarh in Assam. If you are planning to enjoy the journey on the world's longest river, it will cost you around Rs. 13 lakhs. Yes, you read that right! On average, the fare of the luxurious cruise ship is about Rs. 25,000 per person per night.
The Ganga Vilas will carry 33 tourists, including 32 Swiss and one German. The 62.5 m long, 12.8 m wide, and 1.35 m deep vessel will travel through 27 different river systems in Bangladesh and India, making it a fun and adventurous ride. Besides, the cruise will also cover more than 50 significant architectural sites, including world heritage sites on the way. Another delight for the tourists is that they will get to witness the national parks and wildlife refuges, such as the Sundarbans Delta and Kaziranga National Park on their trip.
