Bollywood actress, Yami Gautam and her husband, Aditya Dhar, were blessed with a son on May 10, 2024. They named him Vedavid, and on November 14, 2024, the couple celebrated their first Children's Day with their little son. Vedavid was born on Akshay Tritiya. In a recent interview, Yami opened up about embracing motherhood and also talked about about Aditya being a hands-on father.
In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Yami revealed how Aditya had embraced fatherhood with a lot of josh and had become a pro in making their child burp. She even revealed that despite his busy schedule, he manages to take time for his son and always spent quality time. In her words:
“He is an absolutely hands-on father, a burp expert, and Vedavid loves him. You have to see the moment he spots Aditya! He lights up, feels so shy, and suddenly at the same time he jumps at him even before you know it!It’s like cable work happening at that time. Of course Aditya in the middle of his own shoot. But whenever he’s getting time, he’s coming and, and meeting us. The baby feels the happiness.”
Yami had expressed that she was in disbelief that she embraced motherhood. She feels joyous being addressed as Vedavid's mother when she is on the call with someone. Her little munchkin has changed her life, and her priorities have now changed after her little one has arrived. Yami remembered the day when she came back home from the hospital and everyone wanted to see the baby. She said:
"You know, how it is in every family. I just took a moment, sat next to Aditya. I said ‘I don’t know how to explain this, but it feels that my life just before this moment seems like a blur to me’ You’re not just giving birth to a baby, you’re giving birth to your own self. This is no exaggeration. Everything - psychologically, emotionally, physically changes in that one moment.”
Yami revealed that Vedavid is a name associated with Lord Vishnu and Shiva. However, she gives her son a new nickname daily, but one nickname that has stuck with her is 'JD—Junior Dhar'. Her brother Ojas came up with it while they were watching a film one day during her pregnancy. Yami loved the name so much that she said that even if she was blessed with a girl, she would call him JD.
The Uri actress felt that reading manuals cannot prepare someone for the arrival of a baby. In the same interview, Yami said that she is learning about motherhood daily. The more you’re spending time, the more your baby teaches you. Yami does not open the internet, to read about tips and tricks on motherhood challenges.
