One of the most talented actresses in Bollywood, Rani Mukerji, is known for her stunning on-screen performances. Born to the predominant Mukherjee-Samarth family, Rani Mukerji was destined to rule the silver screen. After making her debut with a Bengali film, Biyer Phool, in 1996, Rani made her Bollywood debut in the same year in the film, Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat.
Throughout her three-decade-long career, Rani has awestruck the audience with her spectacular performances in films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Chalte Chalte, Paheli, Veer Zara, Hum Tum and many others. Just like her professional life, Rani’s personal life made a lot of noise when she married the scion of the YRF banner, Aditya Chopra, in 2014. It was a hush-hush wedding, and in 2015, the couple embraced parenthood and welcomed their daughter, Adira.
Though Rani Mukerji is leading a happy life with the love of her life, Aditya Chopra, the couple had their fair share of hiccups in the beginning. As per multiple reports, Aditya Chopra’s parents, Yash and Pamela Chopra were not happy with their son’s union with Rani. For the unversed, Rani and Aditya started dating one another shortly after the latter divorced his first wife, Payal Chopra.
Though Payal and Aditya moved on in their lives, people blamed Rani for their divorce and called her a home breaker. And since Yash and Pamela were very fond of Payal, they reportedly were reluctant to let Rani take Payal’s place. As per reports in Mumbai Mirror, the situation in the Chopra clan was quite tense during the time that Yash Chopra asked his son to leave their home. The reports also stated that Aditya walked out of his home and stayed in a hotel for some time.
When Aditya walked out of his home, Pamela Chopra couldn’t take it as she loved her son dearly. The doting mother decided to end the feud by accepting Rani as her daughter-in-law. A source close to the family told Mumbai Mirror how the situation came under control and said:

“Adi is back because his mother was very keen to have her son back home. She does not like Rani much, but has had to bend because she could not stay away from her son. A family reunion has happened and now things are better, though still not fully fine. In fact, he categorically told his parents that he would shift only if they did not interfere in his personal life."
It was after Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge that Aditya Chopra rose to prominence as an independent director. Rani had once encountered Aditya at the Sampan Hotel in Mumbai, but to his surprise, the then-young starlet did not pursue him, vying for a role. Impressed by this and her performance in films she had done before, Aditya recommended Rani to Karan Johar for his film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
Aditya and Rani never had a love-at-first-sight relationship with one another. Rani and Aditya had a nice and friendly bond with each other, and it just got stronger with each film she made with YRF. When Aditya Chopra had separated from his first wife, Payal Khanna, in 2009, Rani Mukerji was also in a low phase in her personal life, and the two would often find solace in each other and become each other's forever.
Did you know that Aditya Chopra left his house for Rani Mukerji? Let us know.
