Yuvraj Singh shared a shocking revelation about his life in a conversation with Adam Gilchrist and Michael Vaughan on the Club Prairie Fire Podcast. The iconic cricketer shared that he never wanted to play cricket in the first place; instead, he was interested in making his career in skating. Yuvraj was passionate about skating and proved the mettle of his potential after winning a Gold medal in the National Championship.

Recalling the same, Yuvraj revealed that after winning the medal when he was on his way home with his father, the latter threw his gold medal and skates out of the moving car. Sharing what his father told him, Yuvraj recalled:

"I did not want to play in the heat. My father was hell-bent; I played cricket because he did not play cricket for long, and he wanted to live his dream through me. I won a gold medal; the gold medal went out of the car with my skates. He was like, 'No more roller skating from now.'"

Further, in the same interview, Yuvraj Singh credited his father, Yograj Singh, for his selection into the Indian cricket team at 18. The cricketer admitted that he had good hand-eye coordination, which his father observed and immediately started pushing him towards cricket. Before playing for the Indian team, Yograj Singh excruciated on Yuvraj for eight long years, which eventually became the reason why he got into the Indian team. Sharing the same, he said:

"I used to hate playing cricket in the heat. It's okay to play on the streets, but playing six hours a day was not nice. But I guess I had good hand-eye coordination, and he kind of saw that. For the next eight years, he was excruciating on me. That's the reason why I played for India when I was 18 and a half. He kind of prepared me for those situations."

In another interview, Yuvraj Singh revealed that his father, Yograj Singh, even threatened to break his legs if he didn't play cricket. He said, "He (Yograj Singh) told me: 'From now on, you play cricket, not this girls' sport. If you don't play cricket, I will break your legs.'" Not only Yuvraj Singh but in many of his father, Yograj Singh's interviews, the latter could be seen admitting that he had trained his son with a little madness. From playing with injuries, training in cold winters, and pushing his son to the extreme limits, Yograj did everything, and all the sacrifices paid off when Yuvraj became a world-class batsman.

During his conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia on his YouTube podcast, Yuvraj Singh shared that he doesn't want his son, Orion Keech Singh, to become a cricketer. Revealing the reason behind it, Yuvraj said he has seen kids of many cricketers under much pressure. He added that he had told his father not to train Orion early and let the kid enjoy his childhood. In the same podcast, Yuvraj also shared that, in his opinion, his father has some mental health issues, but he never accepts it. He said:

"I think my father has mental issues and he just doesn't want to accept it. I feel that there is something he needs to address. He doesn't accept it."

Although it made Yuvraj one of India's greatest cricketers ever, but the way Yograj Singh trained him was a bit stressful for Yuvraj and heavily impacted his mental health.
