Vivek Dahiya and Divyanka Tripathi are undoubtedly one of the cutest couples in the television industry. The duo, who have been married for eight years now, never fail to impress everyone with their infectious chemistry and endless banter. For the unversed, the duo starred together in the serial, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, that gradually built their chemistry.
In a recent interaction with Telly Masala, Vivek Dahiya revealed how initially, he was quite apprehensive about marrying Divyanka Tripathi initially. The actor recalled that he met the actress through a common friend of theirs, who tried really hard for Vivek and Divyanka to be together. However, he entertained first thoughts about whether he would be capable enough of affording such a big actress like Divyanka, concluding that she might have a lavish luxury to keep upto. In his words:
“I met Divyanka through Pankaj Bhatia, a mutual friend of us. He would often pull my legs, would randomly abuse me to see if I get angry or revert to him, so when he thought that the guy is balanced and mature, he thought that the guy is good for Divyanka. He called up my mother in law and told her about me. Then he started pitching both me and Divyanka. All I was concerned about what how could I afford such a big actress? Maine socha, unka ek certain life style hoga, certain tarike se wo jeeti hogi, itna bada ghar hoga, aisi gaadiyan hogi, so I thought, how could I afford this?''

Moving forth in the conversation, Vivek recalled how it was this common friend of his, Pankaj Bhatia, who eased him about taking the relationship forward with Divyanka. Pankaj told the actor how the actress was all but a simple girl, who would be satisfied evenly with a person who loved her dearly. Vivek narrated:
“When I discussed this with Pankaj, he told me one thing and that is I will thank him all my life. He said, Divyanka does not care about any of these things. He literally sold both of us to each other individually. He told me that Divyanka is absolutely not arrogant about the fact that she is such a big star. She is just a simple girl, who is only looking for simple things. She is only looking for that true feeling of love. If you can love her, then there is nothing that she would want from you.”
In an earlier interview with ETimes, Vivek Dahiya revealed how before marrying Divyanka Tripathi, the two had a discussion, when it came to how they would handle the actress’ immense popularity and stardom. Vivek mentioned that he was aware of Divyanka’s fame, they discussed every aspect of the matter, and how that could navigate the same in their marriage thereupon.

In the same interview, Vivek had remarked how he promised to Divyanka’s parents that he would never let any ego or his identity of being called her husband, create an issue in their relationship. He added:
“I gave them a very clear reply that I won’t ever compare myself to her unless she compares herself to me. The day you all start thinking I’m Divyanka’s husband and that my identity is limited to that, that is the day when I will not have any control on my emotions. But as long as you treat me with respect, I’ll never let this come in our relationship. This was the pledge that I’d taken.”
