Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo are some of the biggest names in Hallyu. The two celebs, known for their extensive filmography, fell in love when they were filming their 2016 K-drama, Descendants Of The Sun. Eventually, they decided to get married in 2017, only to part ways on an ugly note in 2019. Ever since their divorce, Joong-ki and Hye-kyo have never been seen under the same roof.
However, their streak of avoiding each other broke at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards, which took place on May 7, 2024. The former couple, Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo, were spotted under the same roof since their divorce. While Joong-ki was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his film, Hopeless, Hye-kyo was just invited to the award ceremony.

Soon after the event began, several video clips started making rounds on social media. In one such clip, Joong-ki was seen gracing the red carpet wearing a black tuxedo paired with a crisp white shirt and a bow tie. He greeted everyone and posed for the photographers stationed at the event venue. In another clip, the South Korean actor was seen giving a warm hug to his fellow actor, Kim Jong-soo, after the latter won the award for which Joong-ki was nominated as well.
Meanwhile, Song Hye-kyo attended the Baeksang Arts Awards wearing a beautiful off-the-shoulder dress featuring a deep-neck. She looked ethereal as she opted for minimal makeup and just a pair of diamond earrings to accentuate her overall look. The actress appeared on the stage to present the Best Actress award to Lee Hanee for Knight Flower. During her time on the stage, she revealed being nervous. While videos showed that the two were indeed present at the same award ceremony, it is still not known if the two exes met or crossed paths during the entirety of the show.

As Song Joong-ki graced the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards, an old controversy surrounding the actor stirred up again. While he was posing for the cameras, Joong-ki struck the cheek-heart pose, which is a common pose that Hallyu celebrities often make when they pose for the cameras. However, Song Joong-ki had earlier refused to strike the same pose during the premiere event of his last drama, Reborn Rich, despite being requested several times by the media. Seeing him striking the same pose at the Baeksang Awards made netizens furious and they started criticising him for the same.
For those who don’t know, Song Joong-ki has married again. He tied the knot with former British actress, Katie Louise Saunders in 2023, and the two have even welcomed their first child in the same year. Meanwhile, Song Hye-kyo has been single ever since she parted ways from Joong-ki.
