Rupali Ganguly reacted to the controversy that erupted around her due to her step-daughter, Esha Verma's shocking allegations against her, for which she filed a Rs. 50 crore defamation case.
Rupali Ganguly has been in the news for quite a long time as her step-daughter, Esha Verma's old post about her father, Ashwin K Verma, and his third wife, Rupali surfaced online. For the unversed, Esha accused Rupali of ruining her life. Not only this, Esha accused Rupali of abusing her and stealing her mom's jewels. While Rupali was first silent, she later hit back at Esha with a Rs. 50 crore defamation case. And now, the Anupamaa actress finally broke the silence about the controversy that erupted around her.
In an interview with Instant Bollywood, Rupali Ganguly was asked about the controversy that erupted due to Esha Verma's shocking claims. To this, the actress revealed that if she says that it didn't affect her, she would be lying, as it definitely did affect her. Rupali further added that if someone even says something bad behind someone's back, then, too, it hurts. In Rupali's words:
"Agar main kahoon ki nahi affect hoti toh main jhoot kahungi, of course affect hoti hai. Hum insaan hain agar hamare baare mein koi peeth peeche thodi si burai bhi kar de toh bura lagta hai."
Going further in the interview, Rupali Ganguly added that those people who used to love her will continue to feel for her in the same way no matter what. She remarked that if someone keeps up doing good work, the good results will surely come around, no matter how long it takes. Rupali can be quoted as saying:
"Jo log pyaar karte hai wo log pyaar karte rahenge. Aap acche karam karte jao, achhi cheezein aapke saath aaj nahi toh kal zarur hongi. Bura samay kabhi-kabhi aata hai, buri cheezein hoti hain, lekin acchai hamesha jeetti hai."

In an interview with Times Now, lawyer, Sana Raees Khan revealed that they have filled Rs. 50 crore defamation case to the Bombay High Court, and it would be an example that no one should misuse social media platforms to ruin anyone's image. Sana further remarked that Rupali was shocked by Esha Verma's claims, as she has always maintained a cordial bond with her step-daughter. Sana stated that Rupali first maintained a dignified silence, but later, she had to come forward and take legal steps when her son was being dragged into this dirt. For the unversed, Esha, in an interview with Times Now, called Rupali's son, Rudransh, 'illegitimate', and later she also denied making such a comment.
After Rupali Ganguly filed Rs. 50 crore defamation case against Esha Verma, the latter seemingly archived all her posts regarding her dad and step-mom. So much so that she even ended up deleting her X(Twitter), which left people wondering if she was scared. Well, in a clarification post last week, Esha shared that she didn't do it out of fear. Rather, it was a step of hers towards the journey to heal and get better after sharing her side of the story.
